  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine (such as Sauvignon Blanc)

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

  1. In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat until the butter is melted.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sautΓ© for about 1 minute, until fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  3. Stir in the red pepper flakes (if using) and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Do not overcook the shrimp.
  5. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside in a bowl.
  6. To the same skillet, add the white wine and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Allow the mixture to simmer and reduce slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Season the sauce with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  8. Return the shrimp to the skillet, stirring to coat them in the sauce. Heat through for 1-2 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
