No-Fry Yokohama Fish Teriyaki Delight

No-Fry Yokohama Fish Teriyaki Delight is a flavorful Japanese-inspired dish that brings the rich, savory taste of teriyaki without the need for deep frying. Perfect for a healthy dinner, this dish features tender fish fillets marinated in a homemade teriyaki sauce, then baked to perfection. Serve it over steamed rice and with a side of fresh vegetables for a complete meal.

Ingredients

# For the Teriyaki Sauce
– 1/2 cup soy sauce
– 1/4 cup honey
– 1/4 cup rice vinegar
– 2 tablespoons mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine)
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
– 1 tablespoon cornstarch
– 1/4 cup water

# For the Fish
– 4 fish fillets (salmon or cod work well)
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– Sesame seeds, for garnish
– Sliced green onions, for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Teriyaki Sauce:
1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, mirin, garlic, and ginger.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth, then add it to the saucepan.
3. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Marinate the Fish:
1. Season the fish fillets with salt and pepper.
2. Place the fish in a shallow dish or zip-lock bag and pour half of the teriyaki sauce over the fish. Reserve the other half of the sauce for later.
3. Allow the fish to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Bake the Fish:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
3. Place the marinated fish fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
4. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Finish and Serve:
1. While the fish is baking, reheat the reserved teriyaki sauce if necessary.
2. Once the fish is done, drizzle the reserved sauce over the top of the fish.
3. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
4. Serve the fish over a bed of steamed rice and with a side of fresh vegetables.

Enjoy your delicious, healthy No-Fry Yokohama Fish Teriyaki Delight!
