Lemon and Herb Grilled Chicken with Garlic Yogurt Sauce
This Lemon and Herb Grilled Chicken with Garlic Yogurt Sauce is a delightful and flavorful dish ideal for any occasion. The chicken is marinated in a zesty blend of lemon, herbs, and garlic, then grilled to perfection, lending a beautifully charred and smoky taste. To complement the grilled chicken, a creamy and tangy garlic yogurt sauce is served on the side, adding an extra layer of richness and depth.
Ingredients:
– 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
– 3 lemons (zested and juiced)
– 4 cloves of garlic (minced)
– 2 tbsp fresh rosemary (finely chopped)
– 2 tbsp fresh thyme (finely chopped)
– 2 tsp dried oregano
– Salt and black pepper to taste
– 4 tbsp olive oil
Garlic Yogurt Sauce:
– 1 cup Greek yogurt
– 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
– 1 tbsp lemon juice
– 1 tbsp olive oil
– Salt and black pepper to taste
– 1 tbsp fresh parsley (finely chopped)
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, combine lemon zest, lemon juice, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, oregano, salt, black pepper, and olive oil. Mix well.
2. Add the chicken breasts to the bowl and coat them evenly with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill for 6-7 minutes on each side or until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char.
4. While the chicken is grilling, prepare the garlic yogurt sauce. In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and parsley. Mix well and set aside.
5. Once the chicken is done, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
6. Serve the grilled chicken hot with a generous dollop of garlic yogurt sauce on the side.
