Jalapeño Quiche with Ham and Cheddar
This delightful Jalapeño Quiche with Ham and Cheddar combines the savory flavors of ham, the sharpness of cheddar cheese, and the subtle heat of jalapeños in a creamy, custard-like texture. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner, this quiche is sure to become a family favorite.
Ingredients:
– 1 pre-made pie crust (9-inch)
– 1 cup diced ham
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
– 2 fresh jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped
– 4 large eggs
– 1 cup whole milk
– 1/2 cup heavy cream
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place your pre-made pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate and crimp the edges. Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork to prevent bubbling.
2. Prepare the filling:
In a medium bowl, combine the diced ham, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped jalapeños. Spread this mixture evenly over the bottom of the pie crust.
3. Make the custard:
In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined. Pour this custard mixture over the ham, cheese, and jalapeños in the pie crust.
4. Bake the quiche:
Carefully transfer the quiche to the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes or until the center is set and the top is a light golden brown. If the edges of the crust start to brown too quickly, you can cover them with aluminum foil.
5. Cool and serve:
Remove the quiche from the oven and allow it to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Enjoy this savory Jalapeño Quiche with Ham and Cheddar as a flavorful addition to any meal!
