Hearty Fettuccine Alfredo with Tender Chicken
This delightful dish is a classic Italian-American favorite, pairing rich and creamy Alfredo sauce with perfectly cooked fettuccine and tender chicken breast. It’s a comforting meal that’s perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings.
Ingredients:
For the Chicken:
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp Italian seasoning
2 tbsp olive oil
For the Alfredo Sauce:
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Fettuccine:
12 oz fettuccine pasta
* 1 tbsp salt (for pasta water)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Chicken:
1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is golden and cooked through.
4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside. Once slightly cooled, slice the chicken into strips.
2. Make the Alfredo Sauce:
1. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a simmer.
4. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
3. Cook the Fettuccine:
1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add 1 tbsp of salt.
2. Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente.
3. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot.
4. Combine and Serve:
1. Add the Alfredo sauce to the pot with the pasta and toss to coat the noodles evenly.
2. Add the sliced chicken to the pasta and gently mix.
3. Serve immediately and enjoy!
